An unusual trademark dispute has arisen between one business and the heavy metal community, over a word - or a noise singers make during songs.
It's come to light after a firm in this country, which uses it on merchandise, has found their products removed from a website, after being told they are infringing a Germany company's trademark.
It seems that fans of the genre are not amused that someone has trademarked their sound.
Stewart Kingscott reports.
Etsy said in a statement that their enforcement protocol is based on regulatory obligations and they are required to act on properly filed notices. They say they comply with applicable intellectual property laws by assessing all reports and removing items when they receive proper notices of infringement.
They added that a human reviews every report filed.
We've also reached out to the German company involved, Blegh.de for comment.
A company in the US has also trademarked 'blegh'. In light of recent events they have publicly said they never intend to enforce it, they trademarked it to stop anyone else doing it there and that 'blegh' belongs to the community!
