Climbing the world’s tallest mountains

Adriana Brownlee has made history as the youngest female climber to summit the world’s tallest mountains at the age of 23.

It was a challenge she first started in May 2021 when she conquered Mount Everest as a 20-year-old, fulfilling her dream of "climbing the highest mountain in the world" which she noted in a piece of homework when she was at primary school.

She went onto quit her university degree to pursue a career in mountaineering, and her climb of Shishapangma in October 2024, completed the challenge of the world's 14 peaks over 8000m.

After completing her final climb, Brownlee tells Sportshour’s Caroline Barker about what it means to be making history and scaling new heights.
