Should there be a total ban on phones in schools?
The debate on a total phone ban in schools has intensified over recent weeks as an MP proposed a new law enforcing the change. Number 10 has reportedly rejected calls for more legislation as it says headteachers already have those powers and most schools enforce a ban.
According to Ofcom, 96% of 12-15 year-olds have a smartphone, with many teens spending up to 40 hours a week in front of these screens. We meet the city pledging to go smartphone-free.
