Malvern's world-first for inclusivity
A 6-year-old has inspired her neighbours to all learn British Sign Language, perfect for preparations to go trick-or-treating at Hallowe'en 2024.
For years, Ada, alongside many other deaf children, have not been able to fully participate in the classic children's tradition. Now every child involved in her street can be involved in the spooky goings on.
Hear the young Worcestershire pioneer trick-or-treat for the very first time, alongside her accommodating neighbours, who have been learning phrases such as 'trick or treat' and 'happy Hallowe'en', and representatives from Cadbury Fingers and the National Deaf Children's Society.
Tammy Gooding reports with Ada, her interpreter, and her mum Tilly in Malvern.
