Why there are concerns about spray foam insulation

Homeowners with spray foam insulation are struggling to sell or re-mortgage, with a quarter of the UK's biggest mortgage providers refusing to lend against properties with the foam in their roof, according to a Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú investigation. As many as 250,000 homes across the UK are believed to have this insulation - which could have been fitted by rogue traders, but also legitimate companies, under the previous government's Green Homes Grant Scheme.

Consumer champ Matt Allwright explains what to do if you're worried, and how, if you're considering getting insulation due to the current cold weather - the Homeowners Alliance (HOA) does not recommend installing spray foam until issues with lenders and rogue traders are resolved. We find out about alternative options, including wool insulation.
