Biologist Pedro Montero grew up around animals. His grandmother’s passion for bird watching and rescuing any animal in trouble rubbed off on the entire family, Pedro included. He studied Biology at college in Costa Rica and then went on to take wildlife handling classes there. It was in these classes that he met a professor who worked at Kids Saving the Rainforest, a rescue and rehabilitation centre. Pedro decided to volunteer at KSTR and after a month, he was offered a job there as a Biologist.

Pedro is passionate about his work, he says “I think it would be weird not to enjoy this job, or like working with animals in general. I feel that all kids go through that phase where they like animals, I just never grew out of it.”
