Hamish has had a dynamic career across many industries. He started out at Procter & Gamble, before moving to British Airways, and then became Chief Executive of Eurostar. He then took on the same role at Sainsbury’s Bank.

For the last decade, Hamish has been a consultant working with some of the biggest companies across the world. His skill is seeing businesses from the customers’ point of view. He helps businesses create their ‘customer promise’ and then stick to it – it has proved to be a recipe for success. 

As the team’s business mentor Hamish’s priority is to get the teens to understand the marketplace that they are entering. They all live in Linlithgow, but he needs to teach them to look at their hometown in a completely different way - as business people rather than residents. He believes that this is the key to making a success of their new venture.

Their careful research will help them to create a customer promise of their own, one that is tailor-made to their home town, which will inform every aspect of their business and hopefully guide them to making a profit.
