Starting in Hackney in 2012 Radio 1’s Academy is a week of workshops, events, and Q+As designed to grab your interests by the scruff of the neck and give you the tools and info you need to Take It On to the next level!

The 2013 Radio 1 Academy took place in Londonderry in May, and returned in 2014 in Glasgow. You didn't have to be in Glasgow in person to check out what was going on - all the best bits from The Academy are right here.

We know that working out where you want to go and what you want to do can be intimidating and hard to work out where to start! The Academy is all about inspiring ideas, tips, and skills to give you the kickstart you need to Take it On and turn your passions into your future.

The Radio 1 Academy is a place to share ideas, shout about your interests, and get some industry standard advice and experience on what’s really making you excited. At the Radio1 and 1Xtra Academy in 2012 aspiring music stars got hands on advice from the likes of Leona Lewis, Labrinth, Rizzle Kicks, and aspiring presenters got broadcasting tips from Greg James and Trevor Nelson – and in Derry we hosted live Q&A's with The Script, the Radio 1 Breakfast show team, Gabrielle Aplin, the cast of Eastenders and more!

In 2013 the Academy sessions came from Derry, the home of Radio 1’s Big Weekend for 2013 and we worked with local organisations and successful businesses in Derry to get the best advice and ideas and put them on this site so they can be shared with everyone - in Journalism, Business, Radio, Event Management, Music, TV Production, New Media and Design.

Yes there is, at the 2013 Radio 1 Academy Â鶹¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³Èë¿Ú Introducing ran three nights of shows showcasing great new music from Northern Ireland in conjunction with Electric Mainline & Across The Line, all hosted by Radio 1's Ally McCrae.
