Kirsty Wark

Kirsty Wark is Newsnight鈥檚 longest-serving presenter, having joined the programme in 1993.

Kirsty joined the 麻豆官网首页入口 as a graduate researcher in 1976 for 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Scotland, going on to become a producer in radio current affairs.

After a spell on Radio 4's The World At One, Kirsty moved to television in 1983 - working as a producer on Reporting Scotland and later producing and presenting the current affairs weekly Seven Days.

Kirsty has interviewed many prominent politicians and cultural figures and has won several major awards for her work. She previously presented the arts show the Late Show, and the popular heritage series One Foot in the Past.

In 2001 she also became a regular presenter of Newsnight Review and subsequently presenter of the Glasgow-based Review Show.

She also presents an occasional series of interviews for 麻豆官网首页入口 Four with guests as wide-ranging as Toni Morrison, Donna Tartt and Madonna, and has presented Start The Week on 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Four.

Kirsty has made documentaries on the pervasive nature of social media and its impact on young female mental health, and about the taboo about the menopause.

In 2011, Kirsty reached the final of Celebrity MasterChef and in 2013 she was crowned top celebrity baker on The Great British Bake Off for Comic Relief.

Kirsty has won several industry awards, including BAFTA Awards for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting, Journalist of the Year and Best Television Presenter.

She is also the author of two novels.
