Catherine fell pregnant within two weeks of trying; which was a surprise as they were expecting it to take over a year.
Ashley鈥檚 mates describe him as Doncaster鈥檚 version of Joey Essex - cheeky with a close relationship with hair straighteners. Ashley鈥檚 life is all about entertaining; he is a club singer and compares himself to Robbie Williams. For the last ten years he鈥檚 been doing the Northern club circuit mainly in working-men鈥檚 clubs.
Becoming a Dad is a scary prospect for Ashley who has never even held a baby and he is worried that he is under-prepared and isn鈥檛 going to know what to do. On top of this he is squeamish so the thought of any blood at the birth fills him with fear!
Catherine is a trained beautician but is currently working in a call centre; she has only stopped working as a beautician聽temporarily due to recently moving and being pregnant. However, she still gets to practice eye-brow shaping on Ashley.
She is amazed that Ashley has never held a baby before. As a little girl she helped with her two younger siblings by helping her parents and changing nappies so she feels ready to have a baby.
