A Home Truths listener came across David Price while he was selling her petrol. He told her she had eyes like his wife Megan and proceeded to tell her his love story.

David fell for Megan's long red hair 38 years ago and they married within a month. It was absolutely love at first sight and David's memories of their first meeting are still acute. He says, "She was wearing a yellow dress (knitted, but it was the 60's)鈥 fell totally in love and continue to be so. It's like being sledge hammered, and you just can't think straight".
Megan jokes about her first impression of David: "Well, he had a car and that was important in those days". They shared a passion for archaeology and spent much of their free time at archaeological sites.
It was a matter of weeks before David asked Megan to marry him. He proposed in thick fog on York race course where they had been trying to find some stone circles in a nearby field.

They both had careers as schoolteachers, but are now retired. David has completed his archeology degree, and is now working at a petrol station in order to finance Megan's doctorate in archeology.
David says "We've been married for 38 years and she still makes my heart miss a beat."
Their two children, Iori and Abigail seem to have inherited the love-at-first-sight family trait. Abigail fell for the first chap she went out with at university and is now happily married to him. Meanwhile, Iori fell head over heels with his wife Samantha.
