The enduring appeal of the Jane Austen adaptation

Empire line dresses, boundless Georgian estates and provincial dances... As a new version of Jane Austen鈥檚 Sense and Sensibility comes to our screens, we鈥檒l be looking at the enduring appeal of the Jane Austen adaptation. How does each generation make the stories their own, and is there a danger that we lose sight of the original novels?

Jane talks to Professor Janet Todd,听general editor of the Cambridge edition of the works of Jane Austen and to听writer and journalist, Kathryn Hughes.


Sense and Sensibility begins on 麻豆官网首页入口 ONE on Tuesday 1st January at 9.10pm.
