A remarkable year for women in poetry

A programme celebrating the Woman's Hour year in poetry, from Jen Hadfield's evocation of the startlingly beautiful landscape of Shetland, to a sleepwalk on the banks of the River Severn with . As well as such lyrical adventures, we'll be finding out how women poets have embraced a remarkable twelve months of opportunity:Ìý talks about being appointed the Poet Laureate and we also hear from those such asÌýÌýwho were nominated for the year’s top prizes.Ìý There was also a discussion about the only play written by exploring different experiences of pregnancy. To review these achievements, Jenni is joined by Sarah Churchwell, Senior Lecturer in American literature and culture at the University of East Anglia, and Fiona Sampson, editor of the magazine "Poetry Review" in its centenary year.
