Curvature of the spine that predominantly affects girls.
When she was eleven years old Erika Maude’s parents noticed that she suffered from curvature of the spine. Scoliosis was eventually diagnosed and she was fitted with a back brace. When she was fifteen she went to Barcelona to have special physiotherapy-based treatment in 2002. She says the improvement was dramatic, and after returning to Britain she set up her own clinic. The treatment is called the ‘Katharina Schroth Method’. In Britain it is only available privately and many surgeons question its credibility.Ìý Jenni isÌýjoined by Erika and by Brad Williamson,ÌýPresident of the British Scoliosis Society and a Consultant in Spinal Surgery.
