Zimbabwe Elections 28 Mar 2008
Women in Zimbabwe
What's in store for the country's women?

The people of Zimbabwe go to the polls on Saturday. Despite concerns that Robert Mugabe鈥檚 party may rig the elections, there鈥檚 excitement in the air, with people openly stating that this election will bring about positive change in their lives. Currently the country has an inflation rate at around one hundred and fifty thousand percent and has the lowest life expectancy in the world.

Jane looks at what鈥檚 been happening leading up to the elections in Zimbabwe and what鈥檚 in store for the country鈥檚 women with Christina Lamb, Foreign Affairs Correspondent of the Sunday Times and author of 'House of Stone: The True Story of a Family Divided in War-Torn Zimbabwe' and Dadirai Chikwenga, Public Policy officer for the Zimbabwe Tearfund appeal and research fellow at the Conflict, Security and Development Group at Kings College, London.
