Angola demining
Women听mine clearers

During Angola's听27-year-long civil war, warring sides buried millions of landmines to depopulate areas; slow the movement of opposing forces and defend towns, bridges and power lines. Despite an extensive de-mining program since the end of the war, Angola remains one of the most mined countries in Africa. More than 2 million people have been affected and as many as 80,000 injured. Angela Robson reports on the women involved in mine clearance and on the impact the mines have on the lives of the people there.
