Experiences of violence inÌýBotswana

Caitlin Davies spent twelve years living in Botswana after meeting and marrying a Botswanan man. She returned to Britain after being raped and stabbed by a man who followed her home. The response of her husband’s family to the attack shocked and upset her – they were ashamed, and didn’t want her to talk about the assault. She joins Jenni to talk about her experiences in Botswana and about her new novel Black Mulberries which explores the country’s safari industry.

Black Mulberries by Caitlin Davies is published by Simon and Schuster, ISBN 978-1-4165-2254-6
