Escape from forced marriage in Pakistan |

22 year old Narina Anwar and her two sisters escaped from a village in Pakistan where they were about to be married against their will.
The sisters, originally from Bolton in Lancashire, tried to get help from the British police when they began to suspect that their parents might be planning to use a trip to their native Pakistan to force the girls into marriage. But they were simply referred back to a community group sympathetic to their parents.
Since her escape back to Britain, Narina has been working with the Foreign Office and police to ensure that other girls in her position will get more help in future.
She tells Sheila about her daring escape and is joined by Yvonne Rhodean, Deputy Director of the Metropolitan Police Forced Marriage Project. Narina's story is told in East - Flight to Freedom on 麻豆官网首页入口 Two at 7.30pm on Tuesday 7th August.
