As the summer tourist season comes to an end, some of the bigger National Trust properties are said to be 'put to bed'.

A huge amount of activity takes place in the winter months to ensure the upkeep of the properties - from washing the chandeliers to vacuuming the tapestries - and you can book to go and watch.
Putting the House to Bed tours are on offer at National Trust houses across Britain in November and December.
Corinne Julius went to Petworth House in West Sussex to meet Nicky Ingram, the Collections Manager there, to see what's involved.
Petworth House in West Sussex is offering Behind the Scenes tours while it's closed for winter cleaning and restoration work between 15 November and 14 December. For further tour information at other properties - click on the link above.
