Today is Saint Lucia's day - and all across Sweden this morning parents will have been woken by their children dressed in white nightgowns, offering them coffee and saffron buns, and singing Swedish Christmas carols.
It's a typically Swedish festival, but a totally unlikely one. Saint Lucia was actually a relatively unknown Catholic martyr, and Sweden has been Protestant for hundreds of years. So what is the attraction of Saint Lucia?
Jennifer Chevalier attended the Swedish festival - in Britain - to find out more.
