Rape Centres Over the years the police have tried to make it easier for women to report rape but it can still be a pretty shattering experience.
One approach at a centre in South London is being extended to other areas. The Haven is attached to a hospital and is funded by the Metropolitan police.
Dr Jan Welch, The Haven's clinical director, joins Martha to talk about why women traumatised by their assault need a very different environment from a police station.
