Nadia Bakhurji is the first woman to declare herself a candidate in Saudi Arabia's first nationwide local elections
Educated in Leicester, Nadia moved back to her native Saudi Arabia in the early 80’s and became a successful interior designer.ÌýÌý
The elections, which take place early next year Ìýthere are beingÌý seen as a first step towards political reform.Ìý Nadia will be talking about why she’s decided to stand for election in a country where women are not even allowed to drive.
