Should this be a criminal offence?
As the government launches its consultation on forced marriage, looking into the advantages of making it a specific criminal offence, we bring together the experts to debate the pros and cons of doing so.
Would making forced marriage an offence hinder women from coming forward to report this crime, as it would mean reporting on members of the family? Or would it send out a clear deterrent message instead?
