SeiseanRadio Luxembourg :: 31/01/08 :: 1845Cuiridh sinn geall gu bheil sibh a' faighneachd, “Radio cò?” an-dràsta. Uill, tha sinn cinnteach gum bi sibh ag innse dhan h-uile duine a dh'èisteas mun cheathrar a tha seo às a' Chuimrigh as dèidh dhuibh am faicinn. ‘S ann à Aberystwyth, taobh an iar na dùthcha a tha iad, agus thàinig iad còmhla bho chionn trì bliadhna. Tha iad air a bhith a' faighinn stiùireadh ‘s cuideachadh bho Euros Childs, fear gu math ainmeil, a bh' anns a' chòmhlan Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. An dèidh cliù a thogail dhaibh fhèin anns a' Chuimrigh, tha an ceòl aca a-nis a' glacadh aire dhaoine anns an fharsaingeachd. Chan eil sian as fheàrr le Radio Luxembourg na bhith a' cluich beò - agus thadhal iad air iomadach àrd-ùrlar an-uiridh, Glastonbury nam measg, agus tha iad an còmhnaidh rim faicinn aig an fhèis chiùil Cuimris “Eistedfodd”. Tha e follaiseach nach eil a bhith seinn anns a' chànan aca fhèin gan cumail air ais ann an dòigh sam bith. 'S e an comhairle a bheireadh iad do dhuine sam bith a bha den bheachd òrain a sgrìobhadh sa Ghàidhlig, no cànan sam bith eile, ...na smaoinich cus mu dheidhinn, dìreach thalla ‘s dèan e! There is a good chance that you are scratching your head and asking "Radio who??" but I'm sure that you will be telling anyone who will listen about this 4 piece from Wales after seeing them! Originally from Aberystwyth, they formed just over 3 years ago. They have been mentored by Euros Childs, who made a name for himself on the Welsh music scene and further afield, from his time in the band Gorky's Zygotic Mynci. Radio Luxembourg have also managed to follow in Gorky's footsteps and established themselves as one of the most popular new bands in their home country and secured airplay on both radio and TV and they are now being picked up by national radio stations. Playing live means everything to the band and they were busy lasy year playing festivals such as Glastonbury and Eistedfood, the National Welsh Fesitval, where they have become a regular sight over the years. It is obvious that singing in their native tongue has not held them back in any way and the advice they would give to anyone considering writing songs in Gaelic, or any other language for that matter? Don't think about it...just do it! Feumaidh tu (Beurla) fhaighinn. Tasglann |
