The best of the county's bands will take part alongside other entertainments and attractions. This year's Teenage Kicks Festival on Saturday 27 June will showcase the best local musical talent and will begin with a parade of tortoise sculptures made by Shropshire teenagers as part of the celebrations to mark the 200th anniversary of naturalist Charles Darwin's birth. Recording inside The Buzz Taking to the stage will be 1.5 Days, Jemma Griffiths, the Beat Collective, Core, One Summer On, Nasty Habits, Stereosmith, Trampled Underfoot and Someone Else. The bands have been selected by volunteers from听 the youth music scheme Voltage. Ellen Green is the Voltage co-ordinator: "This year's Teenage Kicks looks to be the biggest and best yet. The Quarry is the perfect location in the centre of town and we are looking forward to an excellent day of stunning live music and quality entertainment." The Buzz mobile recording studio will be there to give bands the chance to record their own demo.
