V Festival 2007 preview

Well the V Festival is around the corner once again and the line-up has never looked so good. All we need now is for the weather to clear up.

On the 18-19 August, Weston Park and Hylands Park will host the 2007 V Festival, one of the biggest events in the UK musical calendar. This year's line-up looks a strong one over both Saturday and Sunday, featuring the likes of Kasabian, The Killers, Basement Jaxx, Foo Fighters and The Kooks.

For once in the last couple of years you might be hard-pressed to work out which gig to catch and which you'll have to miss out on. In 2007 there are enough big names and great acts to force you to sit down with a schedule and a pen and make some tough decisions.

The Killers, Kasabian, James, The Fratellis, James Morrison, The Goo Goo Dolls, Basement Jaxx, Manic Street Preachers, Lily Allen, Mika, Guillemots, Damien Rice, and Tiny Dancers will all appear at Weston Park on Saturday 18 August. Meanwhile Foo Fighters, Snow Patrol, The Kooks, Kanye West, Editors, Amy Winehouse, Primal Scream, Happy Mondays, Beverley Knight, Martha Wainwright, Bright Eyes, and many more all play on Sunday 19 August.

This is a report of the goings on at the Red Camp site and V Festival Weston Park as told to me by my son who has been a victim. Hoardes of thieves have invaded the Red Camp site AGAIN this year and ransacked tents and camp sites. Be aware that security on the Red Camp site is so lax that no wrist bands are being checked so anyone can get in. This is a regular thing every year Another girl kept her valuables in her sleeping bag as is common practice. The thieves felt her sleeping bag and just ripped it off of her. Poor girl now in shock. Thieves attacked about 1:00 am and then retuned an hour later to carry on. Reports from the site at 9:30 this morning was that the campsite is strewn with clothes and empty hand bags as festival goers gradually awake to see the amount of muggings and robberies that have taken place.
