Blast Diary part two

By Josh Withey
Find out what Blast reporter Josh Withey has been up to in between sleeping, running, interviewing and taking pictures!

Hello first off yes I know I should have done another one of these sooner but due to a painful combination of being too busy and too lazy I haven't.

As I said I have been very busy and that can be seen from the overflowing V Festival 2006 page. First off there was all the preparation for V calling up countless record labels, press offices and managers, and then trying to arrange a few interviews with some famous people. Once that was done there was actually getting to V.

Waking up early is never a strong suit of mine and waking up early and holding a conversation is even harder. But nevertheless I was up at 7.00am and in to the office to have a quick chat on the radio before getting picked up to go to Weston Park.

Now it was already raining quite a bit and as I looked down at my holy converse I realised that there might be the slightest outside possibility of a chance I might need some wellington boots. So it was off to buy proper waterproofing gear for the feet and then finally off the V Festival.

It was a brilliant festival and the rain simply seemed to add to people's enjoyment. Don't ask me why, it just did. It's one of those crazy facts of life that never makes sense.

So on top of my usual photo taking there were the interviews to do. I spent some time with Paolo Nutini, Nerina Pallot and Morning Runner. I also chilled out with Imogen Heap in the teepee, quite out of the blue really. Unfortunately for many reasons I could not manage to grab interviews with Bloc Party or Regina Spektor, but hey win some, lose some.

So V was basically a running event from stage to stage with my camera and from dressing room to dressing room... which kept me fit at least.

Then of course there was getting all this stuff up on the web which took a while. Getting into the office on the Monday, muddy and tired and possibly hallucinating 鈥渨ho is that on the TV he looks a lot like me鈥. It was after doing a load of filming over the weekend and 麻豆官网首页入口 Shropshire TV put my ugly mug up on the screen and for some bizarre reason it was looped over and over again. Well can't argue with the television, it's obviously got taste.

So with post V tiredness I slept for around a bout a week and I'm back writing this. I will be covering Telford Rocks and judging it which shall be fun, I may be going to some gigs as well everything seems to be getting back to normal well as normal as it can be.
