The story opens
on the Pune college campus where Karan and Pooja meet for the first time. Love
blossoms between the two.
But all this changes when Pooja boards a Mumbai bound flight which becomes hijacked
in mid-air by a group of terrorists demanding the release of their leader Ashraf-ul-haq-Malik.
As the film progresses
we learn that the whole hijack scenario was engineered by Vijay Verma - who happens
to be Pooja's brother.
So Karan takes
matters in his own hands for a rescue mission in order to save his lady love and
other passengers from the clutches of the terrorists. Unfortunately Karan now
becomes the target for the head of the terrorist organisation, Akhmash.
There then follows
a series of nail biting events in this cat and mouse chase where both Karan and
Pooja become the prime targets, leading to an explosive and tension filled climax.
Performances by
both Karan and Jividha are extremely convincing considering that this is their
debut film.
Technically this
film is on a par with the present Bollywood releases but its Baba Azmi who deserves
a pat on the back for his excellent cinematographic execution, especially the
helicopter chase which will have the audience at the edge of their seats.
Music by Nadeem-Shravan
is more upbeat which matches with the youthfullness of the storyline.
Well director Kuku
Koli did keep to his promise in that he has successfully managed to deliver a
sound product for the masses at large. Let's see how it fares in Afganistan where
it gets it historical debut as the first Hindi film to be screened in their theatres.
