Bollywood's legendary
actor, Amitabh Bachchan plays Vijay Singh Rajput, an honest but dedicated manager
of Vilasrao Jefferson Bank.
Slightly schizophrenic
by nature, Rajput's one thoughtless mistake leads to his sacking after 25years
of service. A now angry and most frustrated Vijay vows to take revenge on the
bank by hitting it were it hurts the most the safe.
In order to carry out his plan, a team of three blind men; Vishwas, Arjun and
Illyas are recruited for the job who will not only carry out the biggest fool
proof scam to date but also be the least suspects.
The insane bank
manager also takes on board, Neha, a blind school trainer who is blackmailed into
helping the three blind recruits achieve their goals.
Tension soon arises
as the D-Day approaches for the bank robbery. Not only do they manage to get into
the bank but they even succeed in pulling the whole thing off with extreme ease.
But this is where
the twist in the story line comes when things start to go haywire as our three
blind robbers decide to keep the loot for themselves.
What happens to
the mastermind behind the whole plan? Where does Neha come in after the robbery?
These and more questions will be answered as director Vipul Shah takes you on
a roller coaster ride as the nail biting sequence of events unveil in front of
the audience in the final reel.
It can easily be
said that 'Aankhen' is a film with brilliant performances. Amitabh Bachchan
excels; beautiful Susmita sizzles whilst Arjun's character gives as good as he
gets.
But the show stealer
is Paresh Rawal whose brilliant one liners is sure to get the audiences rolling
in their seats with laughter!
If you have seen
his previous flick, 'Hera Pheri' and 'Haseena Maan Jayegi' you will know what
I mean.
Akshay might be the last to mention here but certainly not the least. One cannot
fail to notice the magic which holds the audiences attention throughout the film
and this comes in the form of Akshay Kumar.
His dialogue interaction
with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is simply mind blowing. Akshay has definitely
proved in this flick that he is one of Bollywood's bests.
All in all, a film
like 'Aankhen' just goes to prove once again; that Bollywood is now becoming
more daring in its movies making. The current trend has already started with India's
number one hit, 'raaz' which just goes to show that what matters these days is
a slick presentation; a cleverly woven script and a true to life narration by
the lead actors no matter how big a star they might be.
'Aankhen'
goes to prove just that now judge for yourselves!
