Hum
Tumare Hain Sanam is the story of Gopal, a successful and prosperous
business man who is totally besotted by his beautiful wife, Radha.
Being
romantic by nature, Gopal showers his dearest wife with all the
love and affection but Radha, on the other hand, fails to recognise
his affection and so does not reciprocate.
Her
main love and attention is geared towards her beloved brother, Prashant,
who happens to be unemployed. This, of course, further adds to Radha's
concerns.
Caught
in a web between her love for her husband and her brother, Radha
has only one solace, her childhood friend Suraj, now a professional
singer.
Being
her best friend and confidante, Suraj has always found time for
Radha, as she is the one person who has always stood by him during
his hour of need.
As the communication between Radha and Suraj increases with time,
the ever obsessive Gopal begins to misunderstand their special relationship.
Accusing
Radha of infidelity, Gopal throws her out of his house. A totally
heartbroken Radha tries to reason with her husband but to no avail.
On
the other hand, Suraj is shattered when he catches wind of the situation
and realises that he has been the cause of Radha and Gopal's breakup.
He decides that there is only one way he can make it up to Radha,
and that's by giving her back all she has lost - her husband, her
home and her happiness.
Determined
to clear all the misunderstanding, Suraj sets out on his personal
quest but you'll have to see the film to see if he succeeds or not.
Does
Gopal welcome Radha back into his life? Does Radha realize how precious
a husband's trust and love are? For answers to these and more questions,
go and watch this melodrama at a cinema near you.
Director
K. S. Adhiyaman has successfully managed to give an age old story
line very much reminiscent of 1970s Bollywood a whole makeover thus
making it more appealing for today's audience.
The score by a famous musical cast is a plus point for this film,
which happens to be extremely melodious to the ears. This, coupled
with the visualisation of the songs further enhances the mood of
the music.
Performances by all the lead stars are excellent and all rise above
the script of the film.
All
in all, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam is a great entertainer, which stars
three of Bollywood's most elit actors: Shah Rukh Khan, Mudhuri Dixit
and Salman Khan.
It's definitely worth watching, and the fact that that it reached
number seven in the UK charts in its opening week must say something
about the film.
