This college based romance revolves around three characters: Payal (Amrita Rao), Rajiv (Shahid Kapur) and Alisha (Shenaz).

Payal is in love with Rajiv since childhood but is unable to express her feelings as Rajiv does not reciprocate in return.

He is on the look out for a glamorous girl to be his companion.

He succeeds in doing just that with Alisha (Shehnaz) against stiff opposition from other college hunks.

But soon, this relationship makes him realise who he truly loves.

Although such a storyline has been witness before in many Bollywood films, it’s the way the subject is dealt by director Ken Ghosh which makes it different from its counterparts.

He has managed to give the film a fresh and youthful look.

The first half is full of fun and frolic based on the college campus but it’s during the post intermission that the film really picks up speed with some well executed dramatic moments.

The film has its share of lighter moments too which will go down very well with the college youth. The one-liners are simply too good.

It can be seen that Ken Ghosh has done his homework very well. He has portrayed life on the college campus with reality down to the minute detail.

Even the relationship between Payal and Rajiv has been handled with great care and sensitivity, making the viewer feel the ‘pain’ of their love on screen.

The climax scenes have been brilliantly shot with full credit going to the new cast, director and the technicians.

Music by Anu Malik is another plus point for the film. All the songs are shot on a lavish and stylish scale.

Cinematography further compliments the film making it look colourful and glossy.

One cannot fail to notice Shahid Kapur’s debut performance. His acting capabilities exude freshness. Here is another star in the making. It won’t be too long before he makes it to the top - that is my personal prediction!

Amrita Rao who debuted in the Legend Of Bhagat Singh has more room to display her emotions in this film whilst Shehnaz impresses with her confident attitude as the beautiful college damsel.

After so many months, Bollywood finally comes up trumps with a film which will get those box office tills jingling.

An excellent combination of music, dance, art direction, dialogue delivery and cinematography makes Ishq Vishk a visual treat. Not to be missed!
