Parwana
is an orphan whose friends include Inspector Hardeep and his wife
Ketaki Dave.
Ketaki
has always had a soft spot for him. For this reason she always bails
him out when he gets into serious trouble.
But
Inspector Hardeep warns his wife that one day she will regret supporting
him.
Parwana
soon encounters Pooja (Amisha Patel), a thief in distress.
But
whilst helping her, Parwana falls for her charming personality.
Romance blossoms between the two (as it always does in Bollywood
films!) and they decide to marry.
But
fate plays a cruel trick on the couple. Pooja meets with an accident.
In
order to save her, he has to fork out Rs 50,000 for the hospital
bill.
With
no money to spare, Parwana steals a bag from a passer-by only to
find that it consists of bombs.
Just
at this moment in time, he is caught by the police and branded a
terrorist.
The
film then side-tracks towards two terrorists who are planning to
bomb the busiest part of Mumbai city during one of the religious
celebrations.
How
Parwana escapes from jail and tries to tackle the criminals form
the crux of the story.
The
story of Parwana is predictable from the word go.
Director
Deepak Bahry has taken a great risk of using the same old formula
which has been repeated so many times in past Bollywood films.
With
nothing novel about the plot, the film gives the impression of having
seen it all before.
Song
sequences further act as hindrance to an already predictable screenplay.
Despite
this fact, the director has shot some impressive fight sequences
in the climax scenes.
Ajay
Devgan gives his usual best although a routine storyline does not
give him much scope to exhibit his talents.
Overall
the film is worth a watch of Bollywood action is what you are looking
for.
