Gayab
(meaning disappearance) is all about a simple guy called Vishnu Prasad.

Antara
Mali as Mohini
|
Vishnu
is a loser who lacks self-confidence in life. Things always go wrong
for him and he has always had to work twice as hard to achieve his
personal aims.
Home
life is no better either, with a nagging mum who constantly taunts
Vishnu at the slightest opportunity.
His
timid father on the other hand is too scared to raise his voice
against the injustice carried out by his wife.
To
make matters worse, Vishnu's friends think that he is an idiot whilst
Mohini, the love of his life doesn't even know that he exists.
Then
there is also Mohini's boyfriend to contend with. He is on the look
out for Vishnu to break his bones.

Tusshar
Kapoor as Vishnu Prasad
|
But
life changes for this young man, when he realises that he has the
gift of becoming invisible.
Initially,
he enjoys the newly discovered power but then decides to misuse
it to make his dreams come true.
He
tries to win Mohini's heart by showering her with money but even
this does not make the girl fall in love with him.
Frustrated,
Vishnu decides its time to turn nasty - the only way to advance
forward in life. But will this change of heart achieve anything
for him?
Gayaab
sees young Tusshar Kapoor with a different look. Perhaps this
might be the big Bollywood break this young lad is looking for.

Mohini
and her boyfriend

If
a total change of character worked for Hrithik in Koi Mil Gaya
then the same can predicted for Tusshar.
Gayaab
is produced by Ram Gopal Verma who is renowned for making films
that are different from Bollywood norms.
A light
hearted comedy, this film opens at Cineworld, UCI and Vue cinemas
on 16th August 2004.
