This
film focuses on Diya Malhotra (Aishwarya Rai), a sensitive girl who
has spent most of her childhood living on a coffee plantation town
of Coorg.
Her
dad, Mr Malhotra (Tinnu Anand) has struggled on his own to bring
up Diya, after his wife passed away many years back.

Raj
Chauhan (Amitabh Bachchan) is a close friend of Mr Malhotra. Residing
in Mumbai, he has turned his home into a small orphanage. So he
has now dedicated his life in helping the children who live there.
Diya,
who is now studying for her Masters degree in Sociology, has decided
to do her project at Raj's orphanage.
Soon, fate brings Diya in contact with an easy going and fun loving
lad by the name of Arjun Khanna (Vivek Oberoi).
Once in Mumbai, Diya learns that she will be staying in the same
house as Arjun. Actually,
Arjun's parents are friends of Mr Malhotra.
As
friendship develops between these youngsters, Diya finds that Arjun
might have a modern outlook on life but when it comes to the subject
of arranged marriages, he is all for it.
Like
his forefathers, he does not believe being in love. But Diya does
not agree with his old fashion views.

Karnik makes his directorial debut with this film who is said to
bring a fresh outlook on Bollywood films.

Music
directors, Shankar Ehsaan and Loy, who are already riding high with
the success of Kal Ho Na Ho and Lakshya, have composed
the music for Kyon Ho Gaya Naa .
Kyun
Ho Gaya Na which is partly shot in Wales, is all set to release
on 13th August 2004.
