The
spot light of this film falls on an online robbery as someone hacks
into the bank account of an underworld gangster.
A huge
sum of money is transferred. Now the police and the gangster are
on his trail.
The
story then focuses on Jai (Shahid Kapoor), a carefree young chap
whose close friend, Sonia (Kim Sharma), is in love with him.
But
Jai is not interested in her, because he has the image of that perfect
girl in mind he is supposed to meet.
That
special day arrives when he sets eyes on Neha (Kareena Kapoor).
He quickly expresses his love for her but Neha is not easily convinced.
A few
situations and a nasty incident later, make Neha realise that Jai
truly loves her. She then falls for him.
Soon,
their perfect world gets shattered when Neha reveals her father
had borrowed large sums of money from the underworld.
It's
now pay back time and she only has three days to find the money
or else be killed.
Besotted by his girlfriend, Jai is prepared to do anything for Neha.
He decides to help her by robbing a bank to pay the debt.
On
the day of the robbery, he witnesses a man by the name of Vikram
(Fardeen Khan) withdrawing large sums of money. So Jai changes his
plan and decides to rob him instead.
But
he gets caught in the act by Vikram and quickly owns up to him as
to why he wants to steal the money. Both men strike a deal.
In
order for Jai to receive the money, he must own up to the police
by saying he is the hacker.
For
the sake of Neha's love, Jai agrees and gets arrested by the police.
But during a scuffle that follows in court, he escapes.
He
ends up at his girlfriend's place and is even more shocked by what
he discovers. . . .
As
far as the British Asian audience is concerned, Fida is a
winner at the box office.
Director
Ken Ghosh has packaged the film very well whether its in the editing
department or on the cinematography side.
Even
the song sequences are eye catching which are further enhanced by
Anu Malik 's musical score.
Great
performances enacted by Shahid and Kareena Kapoor in this film.
I must say, they make a great on-screen couple.
Fardeen
Khan is not bad either. He plays the sauve, sophisticated character
with ease.
On
the whole, Fida has the thrills and the chills to entice
the audience into cinemas. Another great entertainer from the director
of Ishq Viskq.
