But
then, there is also a man by the name of Karan Shah (Rahul Khanna)
who will defy all odds to capture this villain. And that's his Elaan
(meaning aim or ambition)
Karan
was once a street urchin selling tea in an office. Now he's a business
wiz kid and heir to a formidable empire.
It
was Kantilal Shah who took Karan under his wing and made him what
he is now.
Hugely
indebted to this man, Karan decides to capture his criminal and
bring him back to India where he can be tried in court.
So
to carry out his mission, he seeks the help of Arjun (Arjun Rampal),
Abhimanyu (John Abraham), Priya (Amisha Patel) and Sonia (Lara Dutta)
who also want to get rid of Baba for their own personal reasons.

Arjun,
a former police officer, used to enjoy his work but during a crossfire,
he lost his wife.
Due to this incident, he was forced to give up his job. But try
as he might, he could not give up his love for his country.
Abhimanyu
is a petty thief who graduated to a drug dealer. But when he decides
to go straight, he is betrayed and imprisoned.
A Casanova
by nature, Abhimanyu loves money and women. His specialist knowledge
involves the enemy's hideouts.
Sonia
is a bar dancer, whose innocence and faith unwittingly put everybody's
life in the greatest danger of all.
She
beleives that Abhimanyu will give up being a crook for her sake.
So she waits for that day to arrive.
Then
there is Priya, a television reporter who will stop at nothing to
get a sensational story for her channel. She noses around, eavesdrops
and even tries a spot of blackmail - all in the line of duty!
Her
fascination for Karan and her desire to get the main lead for her
newspaper brings Priya close to the other three people with one
mission - and that is to capture Baba alive.
