This sweet romantic drama based in Russia revolves around Lucky Negi (Sneha Ullal), a schoolgirl who has come over from India with her family.

Lucky's father has just been given a post at the Indian Embassy in Russia and the family is doing their best to settle down into their new environment.

One day, on her way to school, she is attacked by a maniac but is able to break free.

To escape her attacker, Lucky hides in the first available parked car.

The car belongs to the ambassador's son Aditi (Salman Khan) who is driving all the way to St Petersburg from Paris to see his dad.

Unaware that Lucky is hiding in the back seat, Aditi gets embroiled in the riots as he continues towards his destination.

At the border check point he suddenly discovers his secret passenger. Before the confusion can be resolved, another militant attack takes place, forcing these youngsters to flee for their lives once again.

They seek shelter in a ruined cemetery isolated from the political unrests. It is here that these characters get to learn more about each other as they wait for help to arrive.

Help comes in the form of Colonel Pindidas Kapoor (Mithun). His comical manner and various disguises not only help the young couple to reach home safely but also provide good entertainment as the story unfolds.

Lucky does have its flaws. It is by no means a perfect movie. It starts off well but slows down when Salman and Sneha are in the cemetery. The conversation becomes so dull that the audience loses interest in the goings on.

But having said this, the film picks up once they are on their way again. Tension then slowly builds up till the very end, keeping you interested in the plot.

This film includes a lot of Russian characters, which is fine as this adds reality to the story.

However, when substantial segments of Russian dialogue are used, it would have been nice to have sub-titles. Unfortunately this was overlooked.

Salman Khan was as usual at ease in his role, but the biggest surprise comes in the form of 17 year old Sneha. Being a newcomer, she is full of confidence.

She is not only beautiful, but strikingly resembles Aishwarya Rai, the current Bollywood Queen. She's bound to win some good reviews and more roles in the future.

Music by Adnan Sami forms the highlight of the movie. Songs like Jaan Meri Ja Rahi Sanam, Sun Zara, Lucky Lips, Shayad Yehi To Pyaar Hai and Chori Chori are all well worth listening to.

Praise also goes to Sudeep Chatterjee for his award winning cinematography of Russia.

So for the above positive reasons, Lucky is a film well worth seeing.
