her brazen debut to becoming the most wanted heroine in Bollywood,
Priyanka Chopra has been through a roller coaster ride in
a short time.
Her
latest act in Bluffmaster
opposite Abhishek
Bachchan has got everyone excited.
After
Barsaat, your next release is Bluff Master on 16 December.
Tell us something about it.
"Bluff
Master is a fun film. It's a film with universal appeal. It's about a con man
(played by Abhishek Bachchan), his life and relationships. My character, Simi
Ahuja, provides the calming factor in his life. She makes him want to become a
better person and return to doing the right things in life." Priyanka
continues, "more than the character, I felt like doing the film because
of Rohan Sippy's refreshing approach to the subject. It's been a great experience
shooting for the film with Abhishek around. "
And
Nana Patekar? What was the experience like working with him?
"It
was interesting and unnerving. But he was sweet and tried to make me as comfortable
as possible while shooting with him. I was always on my toes when I was facing
an actor like him". There
is much excitement because Abhishek and you are working together for the first
time in Bluff Master? "Yes!
He's such a gentleman and absolute fun to work with. His growth as an actor over
the years is visible and you can't doubt his enormous popularity." Was
it easy to step into a role that was first offered to Aishwarya Rai? "To
be honest, I had no idea of the role having been offered to her first. I came
to know of it on the first day of the film. All I know is that I stepped into
the film only because a full month's shoot for Krrish was called off and postponed
to January. When Rohan narrated the story, I liked it and immediately signed the
film as I had those dates free." What
other films are you working on? "Besides
Bluff Master, there's Rakesh Roshan's Krrish, Rumi Jafferi's God Tussi Great Ho,
and Farhan Akhtar's Don." Barsaat
was successful overseas, but not back in India. Why? "Some
things work, some things don't. A hundred reasons can be attributed for the film
not working, but the bottom line is that a film's success can never predicted.
Maybe people abroad related to the film more than people back home." Any

audiences out there are very receptive and warm. We are in a way people who represent
their country and their culture. That's why I'd like to keep telling them - Keep
