Viren
Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan) is a gangster who has committed some horrific
crimes in his time.
But
this time round, the tables have turned. He finds himself at the
receiving end when he learns that his family has been kidnapped.
The
kidnapper is Aryan (Aryeman), who has a grudge against Viren.
Apparently,
his brother Shekhar (Akshay Kumar) happened upon a shoot-out involving
Viren. Not one to leave witnesses, Viren shoots Shekar before driving
off.
When
Aryan learns about this incident he vows to take revenge. Since
Viren can't be found, he decides to kidnap his family to force him
out of his hideout.
From
then on, the film gathers speed as two men clash attempting to accomplish
their aims.
The
film does drag at times when we are subjected to watching Aryeman
showcasing what he has learnt from acting school.
After
all, he is the director's son and this film is meant to act as a
launch pad for this young lad into Bollywood!
Amitabh
Bachchan has done a good job but his best acting skills are not
seen in this film.
Aryeman
makes his debut but he needs more roles to gain experience. Let's
hope with time he will mature as an actor. It is still early days
to judge his talents.
Akshay
Kumar does well in a small role offered to him but it is Bhumika
Chawla who shines in this film. She plays the role of a doctor and
wife of Shekhar with great realisim.
Her
dialogue delivery with Amitabh Bachchan impresses in one of the
scenes in the hospital.
On
the whole Family -Ties Of Blood is a poor fare not worth
a watch. Best to avoid this one at your local cinema!
