A romantic thriller
focusing on Raj Jaiswal (Arjun Rampal), the host of a popular television series
in London. He
uses his star status to flirt with every woman in sight until Shivani (Vipasha)
enters his life. Shivani
is no ordinary woman. She is a friendly spirit visible only to Raj. But Raj's
best friend, Akshay Kapoor (Chunky), thinks his friend has gone bonkers. Caught
between a disbelieving friend and a friendly spirit, Raj's investigation leads
him to a hospital where her comatose body is in danger at the hands of a doctor
prepared to sell her internal organs.
A subject focusing on a man falling in love with a friendly spirit provides ample
scope for the director to engross the viewer. But
the film fails to captivate due to a weak screenplay and lack of suspense. Arjun
Rampal is a great actor but in this film, he does not evoke the curiosity and
romance between himself and the spirit due to a weak script.
Vipasha fares well as the ghost considering it's her first debut film. Chunkey
Pandey provides the humour as Arjun's sidekick while Boman Irani as the pyschiatrist
goes over the top in the comic scenes. On
a positive point, it is a real delight to watch the cinematography of Ashok Mehta,
as he brilliantly captures the touristic sites of London. If
you liked the Hollywood flick, Just Like Heaven starring Reese Witherspoon
and Mark Ruffalo, then watch I See U which caters for the masses who love
Bollywood in its full cultural glory.
