(Chunky) steals a diamond for his uncle, Choksey (Gulshan), who in turn sells
it to his accomplice, Lalvani (Asrani). Meanwhile,
petty thieves Raja (Shahid), Tina (Ayesha) and Choubey (Paresh) are threatened
by a gangster in Dubai to steal the diamond from Choksey.
Added to this plot are some more zany characters such as a driver (Johny) who
ranks his driving skills better than those of Schumacher, a Punjabi wrestler (Sunny)
and his agent Luckee (Vivek).
With all of them caught up together, intelligence
becomes in short supply as they go in search of the diamond. Director
Ahmed Khan's innovative presentation of this stylish and humorous flick in a comic-strip
format fails to deliver many laughs due to
a very weak script.
Too much time is wasted introducing the characters
without giving much thought to the main plot.
Of the cast, Shahid Kapoor
gives a sensible performance, although he gets overshadowed by veteran comedians
like Paresh Rawal and Johnny Lever.
But, when it comes to dance numbers, Shahid is fully in step with the
tunes!
Sunny Deol is at his usual best punching the baddies, while a big
star like Vivek is relegated to the side. Whilst Ayesha Takia complements Shahid
in every scene, Sameera Reddy's character does not have much to do with the plot.
Exotic Dubai locations are captured by Johny Lal's excellent cinematography. On
the whole, this caper is full of gloss and no substance. Fancy
