| Young
businessman Aditya (Shahid) is heartbroken to discover that his girlfriend has
left him for someone else. Totally
dejected, he aimlessly boards a train where he bumps into Geet (Kareena), a talkative
character who annoys Aditya to the point of leaving the train. As
their arguments intensify on the platform, they miss their connection. Stranded
penniless, Geet blames Aditya for this incident ordering him to figure out a way
of taking her home. And
so begins a scenic journey through Indian villages as they reach their destination
using various modes of transport. With
Geet's plan to elope with her lover, complications ensue as her family mistakes
Aditya as her boyfriend, who by now has fallen in love with this lass. Director
Imtiaz Ali may have attempted a story with a predictable ending, but it is his
unique and fresh approach of getting the two central characters to love each other
as they travel together that makes Jab We Met engrossing to watch. Shahid
Kapoor gives a restrained performance as the dejected Aditya and flawlessly transforms
the character into an outgoing personality under Geet's influence. Kareena
Kapoor gives her usual best as Geet, a typical Sikh girl with no inhibitions although
in some scenes she goes overboard with her acting.
On
the whole, Jab We Met (meaning when we met) is a good all round
entertainer worth watching due to the on-screen chemistry between
Shahid and Kareena. With an amzing UK box office total of 拢193.195,
this romantic comedy is a definite must-see!
