Punjabi drama tells the story of how we, as human beings, try to fulfill our dreams

Some
people achieve this within their villages whilst others travel to towns and cities
for better prospects. But
there are many who cross the seas to distant lands like the UK, Canada, America,
Africa, Fiji, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. Everyday,
thousands of Indian immigrants take up residence in these countries with dreams
in their eyes. Almost
all of them have a success story to tell. They all know how to be successful,
and are fully aware of what they are supposed to do as law abiding citizens, to
achieve their goals. But
there are some who do not feel guilty and decide to break the laws of the country
they are living in. By the time they realise their mistake, it is too late.  | | A

There
is no short cut to success. In order to fulfill your dreams and desires, there
is no alternate route other than honesty and hard work to reach your destiny.
And this is what this Punjabi film, Yaariyan, is all about. Gurdas
Maan plays the lead role of Jassa Singh, a good-hearted lawyer from India who
emigrates to Canada for better prospects. Bhumika
Chawla is seen as the beautiful and affectionate Simran whilst Om Puri stars as
Jagbal Bir Singh, a Punjabi immigrant settled in Canada for the past 30 years.
He has made millions and his secret for success lies in hard work and sheer honesty. Gulshan
Grover is Baldev Raj Khanna, a not-so-successful lawyer living in Canada for the
past 10 years. He finds an opportunity to prove his worth but gets on the wrong
side of the law. Bollywood
stars Asrani and Farida Jalal also make a special appearance in this Punjabi drama. Yaariyan
is releasing in selected UK cinemas by distributor, Bollywood Films, based in
London.
