Byron Moore rescued a point for Crewe in their derby match against Port Vale.
Sean Rigg missed an early chance for Vale and Marc Richards was then denied by a brilliant save from Crewe keeper Steve Phillips.
Vale led early in the second half when Dave Artell smashed the ball into his own net while trying to deal with Paul Marshall's cross.
Alex pushed and Danny Shelley hit the post before Shaun Miller had a shot blocked on the line and Moore pounced.
The draw keeps Alex two points behind Vale and four off the play-off places.
