Gary Madine scored twice for Sheffield Wednesday as the Owls extended their unbeaten run with a win over Preston.

The hosts went ahead when Chris Lines passed to Madine, who turned and shot home from the edge of the penalty area.

Wednesday, who are now undefeated in eight matches, doubled their lead as Madine headed in from eight yards out following Michail Antonio's long throw.

Preston substitute Chuks Aneke shot wide and the Lilywhites have now only won twice in 15 league games.

Jones happy after early frustration

"It was a game of two halves and in the first half I felt we got frustrated. We fell into the trap of stop, start and slowness.

"The way they set up looked like they were coming to defend and try and catch us asleep from maybe a free kick.

"We needed to be better on the ball, a bit brighter and more up tempo.

"In the second half, once we had got that into the game, then we created a chance possibly every time we attacked."

Preston manager Graham Westley told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Lancashire:

Westley angered by team news leak

"To stand in the dugout and be told by their dugout that four of our players on Friday had given our side across to them says where the club is at.

"I have to work on the basis that their bench wouldn't tell me a lie.

"When you hear that sort of information, it doesn't surprise me. At times it does pay to let people know the types of stuff that go on in a losing environment.

"Obviously it's my job to sort it out, solve it and move on from it."
