Port Vale 'reject' Gillingham approach for Micky Adams

Port Vale say they have refused permission for Gillingham to speak to Micky Adams about their managerial job.

The Gills have been without a manager since Andy Hessenthaler stepped down earlier this month.

麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Stoke reported that the Kent club had made an official approach for Vale boss Adams.

Vale announced Gills chairman Paul Scally labelled the claims as "complete rubbish" to 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Kent.

Scally refused to comment further on matters regarding managerial issues concerning his club.

A move to the Priestfield Stadium would see Adams return to the club where he began his playing career, making 92 appearances in four seasons.

But the Staffordshire side appear keen to keep Adams, who guided them to 12th in League Two last season, despite the handicap of a 10-point penalty after the club entered administration in March.
