Chairman Jed McCrory has left Swindon Town following director of football Lee Power's takeover of the club.

bought a 99% shareholding in the League One club from Andrew Black in February.

Power came in and his company, Swinton 20 Reds, have now assumed control, with the 41-year-old named chairman.

Following the change of ownership, the club released a statement saying McCrory had "reluctantly" resigned.

"Jed stepped into the club at a time of need and we all agree has rejuvenated the club and the community,"

"He has instilled pride back into Swindon and the town. He leaves the club having established a robust, proven business model, as well as a team that sits seventh in the League One table."

After a 10-year playing career, beginning at Norwich, Power had spells with Bradford, Peterborough, Dundee, Hibernian and Plymouth before retiring.

His subsequent business ventures have included setting up Cre8 Publishing in 2008 and he has also worked as a football agent.

He was part of a consortium that took over Luton Town in 2003, but severed ties with the club a month after he arrived.

Power became chairman at Cambridge United in 2006 and made himself caretaker manager for 12 games, before appointing Jimmy Quinn as boss.

He left the U's 18 months later and joined the board at non-League rivals Rushden & Diamonds, who were dissolved in 2011.

As a friend of McCrory's, Power was brought to Swindon and invested 拢1.2m to - which was in place before the consortium's arrival in February.
