Bournemouth goalkeeper Ryan Allsop says he wants to earn a new deal and regain his first-team place after returning from a loan spell at Coventry.

Allsop started last season as first-choice for the Cherries, but is now behind Artur Boruc and Lee Camp in manager Eddie Howe's plans.

The 22-year-old's current contract runs until the end of next season.

"First and foremost I want to earn a new deal and see where I go from there," Allsop told 麻豆官网首页入口 Radio Solent.

"I want to push the first-team keepers here to hopefully get up the pecking order and do as well as I can."

Allsop played 27 games for Coventry in League One after joining them as part of the deal which took striker Callum Wilson to Dean Court, but his last competitive appearances for the Cherries came in January 2014.

"Coventry was a good period for me - it served its purpose, but ultimately it's good to be back at Bournemouth," added Allsop, who joined the club from Leyton Orient in January 2013.

"It was for game-time and maybe a little bit of confidence as well. It was good to be back playing league football.

"It's hard, the other keepers are vastly more experienced than me. But it's my job to give the manager something to think about.

"I had a sticky spell at the start of last season: moving up to the Championship was a big step for me and the club. I want to keep pace and move forward with the club and prove I'm good enough to be here."
