Lincoln City have parted company with head coach Mark Kennedy after a run of one win in six league games.

The former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland winger had been in charge at Sincil Bank since May 2022.

He led the Imps to a top-half finish in League One last season, but they are currently 16th - albeit seven points above the relegation zone.

Assistant head coach Danny Butterfield has also left, with first-team coach Tom Shaw placed in temporary charge.

"Everyone at the club thanks Mark and Danny for their contribution to the Imps over their time with us, and we wish them well in their future coaching careers," said Lincoln chief executive Liam Scully.

"They leave with our thanks and best wishes."

Kennedy briefly managed Macclesfield and also coached at Ipswich and Birmingham before Lincoln appointed him to succeed Michael Appleton almost 18 months ago.

His final match in charge of the Imps was a 1-0 home defeat by Burton Albion last weekend.
