Kylian Mbappe has scored 180 Ligue 1 goals and is now the eighth highest goalscorer in the competition's history

Lille equalised five minutes into stoppage time to deny leaders Paris St-Germain a ninth successive Ligue 1 win.

Kylian Mbappe converted a penalty as PSG looked to be heading seven points clear at the top of the table.

But substitute Jonathan David headed in from close range after goalkeeper Arnau Tenas blocked Adam Ounas' effort.

PSG are on 37 points as they chase a 10th French title in 12 seasons, with second-placed Nice five points back. Monaco sit third with 30 points.

Despite Sunday evening's disappointment, Luis Enrique's PSG ended the weekend in a stronger position than they began it. Monaco were beaten 1-0 by Lyon on Friday before Nice fell to a 3-1 loss at Le Havre on Saturday.

Mbappe scored his 16th league goal of the season in his 16th appearance after Bafode Diakite fouled Lucas Hernandez.

Yusuf Yazici almost grabbed an equaliser for Lille, but his low shot was well blocked by PSG defender Marquinhos.

Substitute Tiago Santos also had a chance for the hosts, but his deflected effort looped up and ended up on the roof of the net as PSG tried to hold on.

It was David, with fresh legs after coming on in the 81st minute, who salvaged a draw for the home side.

This was PSG's first match since they drew 1-1 against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday to secure their place in the last 16 of the Champions League as Group F runners-up.

The draw will take place at 11:00 GMT on Monday and PSG will face one of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Real Madrid or Real Sociedad over two legs in a last-16 tie in February and March.
